Mary is With Child - Mathew 18:18-24

To start your Christmas season off, why not read the story of Christ's birth in Mathew? The retelling in the first book of the New Testament can help put your mind in the right place. Read it before you shop. As I've been saying, getting and receiving gifts is not the problem. It's forgetting why we're celebrating that is.

Mathew's account is to the point. The passage at the end of the first chapter in Mathew talks about the fact that Mary was found to be with child. It deals with how Joseph handled it. Initially, he was a little upset, but didn't want Mary to be disgraced publicly. An Angel appeared in a dream and told him not to worry, that the child came from God.

What does all of this mean? Well for me, I understand that Mary is someone who did exactly what God told her to do. She accepted her position in life, and eventually so did Joseph.
